What the hell is WEEE?...well, it's "Waster, Electrical and Electronic Equipment"...and, what the heck am I talking about it for?... I just read an interesting article in a magazine about it and how it applies to photography. So, Last January a regulation came into effect that is set to reduce the amount of electrical waste sent to landfill by obliging companies handling electrical equipment to dispose of batteries and electrical goods effectively... An estimated 6000 to 20000 companies will have to take action to avoid prosecution. The directive makes battery recycling obligatory by 2008 and will ban most batteries with more than a trace of toxic cadmium or mercury. It also sets strict targets for battery collection and recycling. Distributors will have to take back spent batteries and accumulators regardless of when they were placed on the market... interesting concept!...

this included computers and parts etc....as a manufacturer we must make sure that we recycle as much of the systems we get returned or upgrade. the manufactures/sellers must make it easy for you to return the product when it reaches it end of life.
