2007, what a year, better than some, not a patch on others... How was yours? Did you do what you wanted to do? Is there anything you'd change? Did you waste it....
2007 saw me getting back into photography in a big'ish way... you can see some of my stuff here
I bought myself a "pro" flickr account and started my own little threesixtyfive it's going strong, we're about to layout our first book... I have managed to not change jobs, which I should have two years ago... But, I didn't. I am going to buy a suit and get a new job and finish stuff... Infact, i've just shared my "new years resolution" with you all... "Finish Stuff"
I want desperately to be better at photography, I'd love to sell something but i'd really like to have a purpose for what I shoot... Like, i'd love to shoot for a charity or something like that... I have a little self project in mind, I've learned that I can't rely on others, they have stuff to do and are as busy as me. Go it alone... Time to make something for myself and be proud of it, not wait for others to wander along with me... You know why I want people to be involved in stuff I do? I think it's so if it goes bad, we can all share the "badness" and, equally, well.. no, if I were to be honest, that's it... I hate the thought of failing, but, in a way I sort of already have.
So, 2008... 2008 is going to be THE year... you know, the year where one sorts his head, sorts his job, sorts his personal life, sorts his ambitions... etc etc et-flamin'-cetera... and, in addition to my "new years resolution" of "finishing things" I have to complete this... ugh...
Trouble... "Feels like every time I get back on my feet, she come around and knock me down again" Ray LaMontagne.... [buggered if I know how he was saved by a WOMAN....]
I started 2007 shooting with a Canon powershot pro 1.. It was ok, just slow... I traded it in for a DSLR 30D which I still use today, infact, I need to do my threesixtyfive.
My wish list for 2008 is as follows... Well, urm, a 1Ds mkIII and, maybe a new lens or two...
We, Who are we? I really am going to have to stop listening to Ray LaMontagne... :)
We moved offices in June, from here to here [no stalking please] this is my new desk...
Well, I don't really have much to tell you... Have a good new years eve, don't drink too much, Mum, happy new year [it's already gone midnight there] flickr friends, happy new year! dps friends, happy new year... real friends... see you tonight... other real friends, see you early 2009
Remember this... "If today feels bad, tomorrow will be better"
Sime
And with that, 2007 comes to a close
We, Who are we?
Can you see the old and lonely, walking through a park, pushing grocery cart, till the sun turns black.
We, Who are we?
I am in the process of doing the layout for our first book. There is so much to consider when you're working with a large group of people. Lots of personalities and opinions, luckily though, our group are basically brilliant. Supportive, thoughtful and helpful, and for that i thank them.
Today is not a good day, i'm in a bad mood... one of those inexplicable ones that I can't explain to anyone let alone the wife, so, she just pushes and pushes for more information that I don't have to give and we argue and then stop talking to each other. it's not ideal, why can't people learn to stop pressing your buttons?.. THIS book doesn't help... it's written by idealists that don't understand every different person. One good bit of advice that someone once gave me [A Shrink] was talk to each other like this... you talk to her for ten minutes, during your ten minutes she's not allowed to talk to you, she must just listen. And then she talks and you listen. it's a good way to get those things out that you just argue about mid-conversation.. you know, she says something you don't like and you start back at her mid-sentence... well, try it.. it works
Ray LaMontagne - Jolene What an amazing song... that link will lead you to Amazon where you SHOULD [waves jedi hand] buy this single... it's a bit melancholy, but amazing.
Isle of Man! Hello!
Someone from the Isle of Man visited my blog yesterday, I don't know who you are, but HELLO!... oh "unique visitor" What does one do on the Isle of Man... Race Cars?... Richard Hammond, was it you!!... Maybe it was that NUTTER Clarkson?.. Or, was it one of the bikes
Click to find out about the Isle of Man by way of a book or dvd...
AND this is where the Isle of Man is.... [incase you wanna go there!] again, Hammond?... Right... dreaming... anyway... if it was you, say hello...
Abominable commuter?
You decide!... On my way back from the house of the big crusty ape, waiting what seems like an hour for the tube, taking random photos with my phone when i am stopped by this guy.. 'what are you doing son?' to which i replied, without thinking, 'freezing, you?' ...luckily he had a sense of humour.. Did you know, you can buy SO much 'tube' memorabilia... Wild really. Oh, lucky me, now i am surrounded by chelsea supporters.. I am not sure what the final score was, but, i dont really care either... I much prefer knitting tournaments.. Yep, really.
A Handy Tube Map!
A Great Tube Photo!
Would make a good photo?
Sat here at my laptop, opposite M and her laptop, for some reason we both got up and started tapping away this morning, not dressing first, so - the image side on would be two odd nude people working away at laptops. I really should get a photo....
So, I have installed "stat counter" on this blog, to record the ONE visit I get a day... hee hee!...
Which stat counter do I use you ask, why statcounter of course... it's really good, actually. You can make it completely invisible and it captures all kind of info, which is good if you're trying to monetise your blog etc...
Saturday, what a day... Today, M says to me "Shall we go buy you a suit?" ...Ugh, me, today in post christmas sales trying on a suit... um.. yeah, hang on while I drive this 9" nail through my eyelid [look away kiddies!] ...must get coffee, stay right there!
....I never came back! This was this morning... I got bored and went out to play
Google Ad [no] Sense
I am always amused by the content that the Google AdSense Ads bring me, for example, on your right - at the moment - you're seeing something about weight loss, now, I don't think I have anything on my blog right now about overweightnessness so I wonder, does it KNOW I need to get back on my bike, is it spying on me? I wouldn't be surprised with googles megalump of server space... they have to have something to do, right?
Soon, the little camera on your mac will be switched on, remotely, without the green light coming on to alert you... it will take a quick video of you, a snapshot.. and send them back to "HQ" where an expert will work out what hair color you should have, what ear rings will go with your eyes today and what accessories you need to whack on to match that horrific lime green number you're wearing [you know, full length mirrors are cheap these days]
So, I have added Google Adsense back into my blog, because if you guys click stuff I get like.. one US cent... and it amuses me to see the types of ads, so, click away my little money makers... click away!...[oh for an army of oompa loompas!.. They could surf and click all day! ]
2046
Watched the film, as recommended by a friend tonight. Maybe I wasn't in the mood... I loved the cinematography, I loved the soundtrack... I just couldn't get into the actual film.

In Wong Kar Wai's quasi-sequel to In the Mood for Love, 2046 is a hotel room, a futuristic story, and a state of mind. Tony Leung returns as Chow, but perhaps not the same Chow who appeared in the first film. Starting three years later in 1966, we see Chow on various Christmases as he lives, loves, and writes in a hotel and nearby restaurants. Although he is less sensitive and more of a ladies man now, Chow's love life always seems to exceed his grasp. Whether the character is the same (the director calls this an "echo" of the first movie) might be trivial. Hong Kong filmmaker Wai is such a visualist (Time magazine tabbed him as the "world's most romantic filmmaker"), the images wash over with swirling smoke, neon lights, and the faces of his outstanding cast, all lovingly photographed and smoothly scored. There's a lot more going on than the visuals, and Wai's fans will certainly find more and more details on repeated viewings. We travel into Chow's futuristic story, where the acquaintances become fictional characters traveling to a place where "everyone goes" to recapture lost memories. Often Chow talks about never seeing a lover ever again, but eventually bumps into her. The final result is a film some will cherish; others will long for the more traditional storyline of the first film. Wai certainly finds a new direction for actress Ziyi Zhang (House of Flying Daggers) as a prostitute who becomes one of Chow's many lovers. And Leung continues to be one of the world's great film actors, with a face and acting style the camera just loves. --Doug Thomas

Joy to the world...
Tonight sees us at carols, again, this time we are at Royal albert hall.. An amazing venue, even when you are this far away from the action!.. Merry Christmas to you lot! CHLO! thanks for the text and merry Christmas to you too! ...this organ (the big blue thing in the picture!) Is truly amazing.. When he opens it up, it really shakes the room.. (Move over fresh prince!) ...well, enough of my rambling, back to your turkey and stuffing your faces.. Pig Out!.. HoHoHo
2007 wrap up....
What a year. Torment, Angst, Music, Photogrpahy, Sad, Hurt, Happiness, Smiles, Tears, temper temper temper...
All of these things have been a part of my 2007, I have photographed almost all of them and in some form or other written about them.
Am I an angry person, I don't think so.. I am a bit messed up like the rest of you - who isn't? I don't know "what I want to be" I don't know who I am most days...
This was day one... 107 days ago... It wasn't a happy day...
Blood runs through your face...
....that's where our similarities end
I don't expect any of you to understand this post, and I certainly don't expect that the person for whom it is intended ever reads this, so, i'll go on for a while and then fade off... I hate this tube station - but - it helps me sort out my demons this picture does. You have a place that you associate with a bad time in your life, for one reason or another, well, this is mine. I think about it from time to time, not about going back to that, but moving forward takes thinking back - does that make sense?...
All sparks will burn out in the end...
